Why Kelly Ripa decided to go through husband Mark Consuelos’ phone

Anyone in a committed relationship knows snooping through your partner’s phone is usually a no-go. But when it comes to Mark Consuelos’ picture-taking abilities, Kelly Ripa couldn’t resist.

On the Monday, January 6 episode of LIVE with Kelly and Mark, the 54-year-old Hope & Faith actress hilariously roasted her husband over the one picture he managed to take of her during their family vacation.

Talking to the audience, Ripa explained how the morning show’s executive producer Michael Gelman asked if she had any photos to share from the trip she took with Consuelos, 53, and their three kids — Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21.

“I go, ‘Yeah, I took my usual 2,000–3,000 vacation photos of my family,'” she said. “And [Gelman] goes, ‘Anything you want to share?’ And I go, ‘No, but go get Mark’s phone because as I recall, about six days ago, Mark took a photo of me and I would like to see it.'”

According to the proud mom, it’s a rare moment when her hubby captures her on camera. “When I pass away, not to be macabre, the only photos that prove that I exist are paparazzi photos,” she joked.

Without skipping a beat, Ripa turned to her co-host and said, “So I got your phone this morning and I scrolled, scrolled, scrolled…” to which Consuelos jested, “I always love when you take my phone.”

At that point, the Live Wire author faced the crowd and asked if they wanted to see the elusive snapshot from the Riverdale star’s camera roll.

“Now I want to point out, for two weeks, I did not wash my hair, I did not wear makeup,” she noted. “But on New Year’s Eve, it was a costume party, there was dress up, and I got all done up and I looked pretty for me. Like, I looked nice. I put on makeup, I put on lipstick.”

Ripa continued, “There’s no photographic evidence or I would share it with you! But Mark took a photo of me and I thank you for this.” The picture in question shows a stunning sunset taking center stage, with a backlit Ripa slightly squatting over a pair of sneakers. “That’s a beautiful sunset,” Consuelos quipped, seemingly unfazed.

The talk show host veteran wasn’t about to let it go. “You know when they show Bigfoot? That’s like Littlefoot. We found Bigfoot’s offspring, Littlefoot,” she teased.

Ripa and Consuelos met in 1995 while screen-testing for All My Children, where they were cast as on-screen love interests. They tied the knot a year later in Las Vegas. After Ryan Seacrest left Live in 2023, Consuelos officially joined Ripa as her co-host.
