President Donald Trump announced Saturday night that he has picked Kash Patel to be the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Patel, a Trump transition insider, was also angling to be deputy director of the CIA. That position would not have required Senate confirmation, unlike the FBI director post, which does.

The president-elect also announced that he’s selected Chad Chronister, sheriff of Hillsborough County, Florida, to serve as administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Chronister joins a long line of Floridians Trump has picked to join his administration.

Trump made both announcements in posts to Truth Social.
