Jan. 4—Ramon Trujillo Ramon Benjamin Trujillo, 89, passed away on December 14, 2024, following a stroke. Born in Vaughn, New Mexico, in 1935, Ramon overcame early hardships, excelling academically and athletically at Vaughn High School before serving in the U.S. Army. He married Betty Jean, his devoted wife of 62 years, in 1962. Ramon worked in mining and later as a beloved salesman and business owner. Known for his warmth and charisma, Ramon and Jean operated their own business before retiring. They later volunteered in the APS Grandparents Program, where they were affectionately called “Grandma” and “Grandpa” by students. Ramon is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Raymond, Christine, and Brian; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
