Jey Uso Weighs In On Travis Scott’s Controversial WWE Slap

Jey Uso has given an interesting take on Travis Scott’s appearance at WWE Elimination Chamber, notably his slap on Cody Rhodes during the Cena-Rock alignment, which has sparked considerable controversy.
Rhodes declined The Rock’s offer, prompting The Rock to enlist John Cena. Cena, fresh from winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber and securing a WrestleMania title shot against Rhodes, shockingly turned heel and launched a vicious assault. The attack escalated with The Rock using a belt and Travis Scott’s intervention, which included a slap that visibly injured Rhodes.
The slap reportedly ruptured Rhodes’s eardrum, necessitating the use of an earplug during his entrance. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that this incident has led to internal criticism of Scott within WWE, with some questioning his involvement in the segment.
Scott’s role in the incident drew considerable criticism, with sources revealing that he was directed to make the slap appear realistic but used excessive force. Uso addressed “the slap” while speaking with Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat.
This comes after Scott, with a joint in hand, joined Uso for his entrance on the WWE Raw Netflix premiere, solidifying their on-screen alliance.

“Somebody ain’t tell him how to work slap? He was probably too damn lit. If he slapped me like that? Hell nah, I probably woulda went [looks up and shakes his head]. This dude just hit me like Sheamus,” Uso said.
Former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland revealed that Scott has been training with Booker T. It’s unclear when Scott could make his WWE in-ring debut. Booker T owns a wrestling school/promotion, Reality of Wrestling, in Houston, Texas.
Since selecting World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER as his WrestleMania 41 opponent, the Royal Rumble winner has endured a series of punishing beatdowns. On this week’s episode of Raw, Uso was in action as he went up against Grayson Waller. The singles match saw Uso go over. Post-match, Uso was attacked by Austin Theory, and then GUNTHER jumped in to put him in a sleeper hold again. GUNTHER’s dominance has failed to derail Uso’s momentum, who continues to rack up victories.
Some have made the argued that Uso vs. GUNTHER for the title should headline the show on the first night. Whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen.
