The Iran-backed Hezbollah militia launched dozens of rockets from Lebanon at targets in northern Israel on Thursday, triggering air raid alarms in Haifa and other areas.

Hezbollah confirmed that it was behind the attacks. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) counted around 50 projectiles crossing the border.

Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service said it had treated an 85-year-old man who had been injured by fragments.

Hezbollah rocket attacks on Wednesday claimed the life of a man, initially reported to be a foreign agricultural worker, but later identified as an 18-year-old Israeli.

The IDF reported that more than 170 projectiles had been fired at Israel on Wednesday.
