Explosion at Tulsa manufacturing plant
Several roads in Tulsa were closed after a plant explosion Tuesday morning at Royal Manufacturing, according to officials.
The Tulsa Fire Department sent large crews to the facility at 516 S 25 West Ave. where clouds of smoke was visible.
“We are asking the public to allow us to continue to work on this,” said a fire department spokesperson.
He said firefighters have the situation almost under control and are focused on protecting the surrounding buildings. He added that facility crewmembers believed the incident was caused by a nearby petroleum tank farm. Streets will continue to be blocked off until the smoke is contained.
Royal Manufacturing, which produces bath products, countertops, and other home construction material, could not be reached for comment at the time of this report.
