dLocal, Viva Aerobus partner to ease payments for travellers
Cross-border payments platform dLocal has forged an alliance with Viva Aerobus, a Mexican ultra-low-cost airline.
This partnership aims to simplify local payment processing for travellers in Mexico, the USA, and Colombia.
The collaboration comes at a time when the International Air Transport Association (IATA) projects Latin America’s passenger traffic to grow by over 5% annually for the next two decades.
Viva Aerobus payments and fraud prevention head Francisco Melendez said: “Partnering with dLocal allows us to simplify payments for our customers, ensuring they can easily book flights with their preferred payment methods, no matter where they are located.
“This collaboration not only improves the booking experience but also positions us for future growth in emerging markets.”
Viva Aerobus will integrate dLocal’s payment solutions to enhance booking conversion rates, offering customers the convenience of using their preferred payment methods.
This move is expected to simplify the booking experience and allow the airline to concentrate on its primary operations.
Additionally, the airline will gain valuable insights from transaction data and analytics to further refine its payment strategies during expansion.
dLocal Americas SVP head Justo Benetti said: “By enabling flexible, localised payment solutions, we’re helping Viva Aerobus reach new markets and offer passengers a smooth, secure booking process.
“At dLocal we’re becoming the payment partner of choice for Airlines across emerging markets, a space that for years was very limited, with only a few players that understood the industry and how to serve them. We are happy to be leading the way of innovation.”
dLocal’s offerings include card processing without the need for additional providers and advanced features like instalments, Smart Routing, and Network Tokenisation.
Its “One dLocal” concept, encompassing a single direct API, platform, and contract, enables international companies to handle payments and settlements globally.
Last month, dLocal partnered with USI Money to improve payment services in Asia and Africa.
“dLocal, Viva Aerobus partner to ease payments for travellers” was originally created and published by Electronic Payments International, a GlobalData owned brand.
