Bengals vs. Giants Betting Preview

Cincinnati Bengals Betting News, Analysis

The Bengals entered the season with Super Bowl expectations, but have gotten off to a disastrous start, including a baffling 16-10 loss at home to New England in Week 1.

Despite their record, though, this team has shown flashes of being able to contend with the best teams in the league. The Bengals came up just short of massive wins over the Chiefs in Week 2 and the Ravens last weekend.

The offense has played well enough to win each of the last three weeks, hanging 33 points on the Commanders, 34 on the Panthers and 38 in a losing effort against Baltimore.

The defense has not gotten enough stops this year, but did play better against the run vs. the Ravens. DT B.J. Hill’s return last week helped on that front, and Cincinnati will also have DT Sheldon Rankins back in action for this game.

The Giants were able to run all over Seattle, as rookie Tyrone Tracy broke out with 129 yards on just 18 carries. Expect N.Y. to feature him early and often Sunday night against a Cincy defense that has been better against the pass than the run early this season.

Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins should be able to outscore Daniel Jones and the Giants in a must-win game, but Cincinnati is at risk of yet another upset loss if N.Y. is able to follow the blueprint it used against the Seahawks last week.

New York Giants Betting News, Analysis

The Giants have already won two games as substantial underdogs this season, against Cleveland and Seattle, and they have to like their chances against the Bengals given how well their defense has been playing.

New York has been solid every week on D. This team held the high-flying Commanders to 21 points in Week 2, and the Giants’ last three opponents all scored 20 points or fewer.

DT Dexter Lawrence has been as dominant as ever this season, and he led an oustanding effort across the board by the front seven in last week’s win. New York took down Geno Smith seven times in that game, with Lawrence posting three sacks.

The defense has a tough task on its hands tonight against the red-hot Bengals offense, and it is unfortunately dealing with an injury to DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, who had two sacks on the year.

Offensively, the Giants are without star rookie WR Malik Nabers (concussion), which means they’ll need another big game from Tracy to score enough to keep pace with the Bengals.

As long as Daniel Jones can avoid turnovers, which he’s done well the last four weeks (he’s only thrown one interception in his last 136 pass attempts), this game should be up in the air in the fourth quarter.

Bengals vs. Giants Prediction, Best Bets

The Bengals don’t feel like a safe bet to win this one comfortably. But after a couple excruciating early-season losses, I like this team to get back on the right track in this game.

Over the last couple weeks, the Cincinnati offense has looked like the dominant unit it was expected to be entering the season, and I don’t see Jones outdueling Burrow, especially with Nabers sidelined.

If the Giants can force some turnovers, they could absolutely pull this off, but otherwise, the Bengals should be able to put up at least 28 points and win this one by at least a touchdown.

Bengals vs. Giants Best Bets

  • Bengals -3.5 (-110 at bet365)
  • Under 47 (-110 at bet365)
