Turkey, family time, football and movies go hand in hand with Thanksgiving. In a time honored tradition, many Americans flock to movie theaters on turkey day to catch the latest flick. This year offers a variety of options for everyone, between blockbuster musicals like Wicked, adventure films like Gladiator II, and laugh-out-loud comedies like Red One.

If you’re in the mood for a movie musical, you’re in luck with two options screening: Wicked and Moana 2.

The highly anticipated musical movie Wicked, starring Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, hit theaters on Friday, November 22. The film features the much-loved songs from the Broadway musical like “Popular” and “Defying Gravity.”

Moana 2, which will be out on Wednesday, November 27, is the long-awaited animated sequel to Disney’s Moana, which came out in 2016. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is reprising his role, voicing demigod Maui.

If movie musicals aren’t your thing, you can catch some action films like Gladiator II and Venom: The Last Dance.

Gladiator II is a sequel to the iconic 2000 film Gladiator about the Roman Empire. The cast is filled with A-listers, including Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Denzel Washington.

Venom: The Last Dance is the final movie in Marvel’s Venom franchise. Tom Hardy reprises his role as Venom in this superhero film.

If you didn’t get enough of The Rock in Moana 2, the actor is starring in the Christmas comedy Red One, where he plays the head of North Pole security. His character teams up with a hacker (played by Chris Evans) to save Santa Claus. However, there are plenty of other options in the comedy genre, including The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Anora, and A Real Pain.

While spooky season has officially ended, some horror movies like Smile 2 and Heretic are still playing. You can also catch dramas like Conclave and Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin in theaters.
